Language points (I)
Teaching goals: 1) To enable the students to be able to understand the
important and new words, phrases and sentence structures from
paragraph 1-paragraph 7;
2) To enable the students to apply these words, phrases and sentence
structures to listening, speaking, reading and writing.

1. Listen to this part. Then find the answer to the following question:

2. Enjoy a video clip about the performance of Turandot in the
Forbidden City. Appreciate the awesome setting together.
3. Show the sentence” There could not be a more awesome setting!”:
1) What is the meaning of “awesome”?
2) So this sentence means “It is the best setting.”
3) Fill in the following blanks:

So you’d better try to use the structure “ 否 定 词 + 比 较 级 ” to
replace your “the best” ”the most beautiful” “very good”… in your
writing next time.

Task 6:

My dad is a strict man. At the first sight, you may even not dare
speak to him. But as time goes by, you’ll find he is very mercy.
When I was in middle school, I once failed in a math test because I
couldn’t resist read novels in math classes. Our teacher demanded that
those who failed in the exam should asked their parents to call him. This
disturbed news made me feel so sad. To my surprise, my father did not
scold me of not studying hard after talking with the math teacher. Also,
he said he was sure that I know how to deal with that problem. I could
