To practice listening, speaking and writing skills through playing a video tape,
brainstorming, acting and writing.

To listen certain figures about myopia and fill in a task based table.
To act out an interview on how to promote our eyesight.
Ⅲ. Teaching process
Step 1 Warming up
A conversation with students on the current situation in our class and school.
Step 2 Listening
Listen to a radio tape about the problem of a school and then fill in the gaps in the
students’ book. (giving some guidance and asking them to pay attention to certain
numbers or percentage. ) Check together.
Step 3 Speaking (Brainstorming)
After the background information in the listening part, encourage students to
speak more about how to protect our eyes. (giving certain praises and encouraging
them to provide move ideas)
Step 4 Group work
Work in group of four, conducting an interview based on the two former tasks.
Put what they’ve heard into real conversation. (strengthening cooperation)
Step 5 Writing
Write a letter to our headmaster about the problem of myopia in our school using
the words and phrases we have learnt in this class.
