People can buy all kinds of things in the small shops.‎ American exchange students 美国交流学生 Many American students come to our school as exchange students. We are excited to meet them. Most of them live with some Chinese families. They have two or three classes with Chinese students every day. Sometimes we invite them to join in some club activities. Then we know more about their lives.‎ Wrong views about Americans ‎ We often think American students have little homework. But we are wrong! Most high school students in America have much homework, just like us. ‎ Their time-table Every morning they get up early. Then they will have a walk and take a shower. After school they will do their homework first.‎ Pocket money Many of them have part-time jobs(打零工) in their free time. Some work as a language teacher. Others work in fast food restaurants, and they make about 4 dollars an hour.‎ Their holidays They often have a travel with their parents or friends. They also like to take part in all kinds of volunteer service(义务服务). Some cook some food for those homeless people. She says, “Breakfast is our most important meal in a day. We have bread, fruit, milk and corn. They are very healthy.” Her favourite Chinese food is rice. It smells nice.‎ Zhu Yajie is shy when Australian students try to give her a hug(拥抱). The 14-year-old girl only shakes hands with them. “They tell me they usually greet(问候) their good friends by hugging,” says Zhu.‎ Tang Siyu has a quarrel(争吵) with her parents. She doesn’t think her parents understand her. But after talking to Ross, a 15-year-old Australian girl, she learns some new ideas. She goes to say sorry to her parents. They have a nice talk.
