It will affect Chinese people, especially the teenagers.‎ Nowadays, some teenagers only care about things outside. They often behave badly. For example, they fight each other, use phones in class, be rude to their parents and teachers and so on. Most of them don't know love, respect and gratefulness.‎ Being grateful or thankful is very important. It is impossible for anyone to be lucky and successful all the time as long as he lives in the world. We should learn how to face failure or bad luck bravely and to try to deal with it. As we know, “Life is a mirror. When you smile in front of it, it will also smile and so will it when you cry to it. ” If you are grateful to life, it will bring you shining sunlight. If you always complain about everything, you may own nothing in the end. ‎ I think the teenagers should be grateful to life even when we are unsuccessful or unlucky. We have many reasons for being grateful. For example, being grateful is a way to communicate with adults. And it is a way to sing for our life which comes just from our love and hope.‎ If each of us has an attitude of being grateful, we'll lead a better and more beautiful life. So remember, being grateful forever.‎ 阅读短文,根据要求完成下面各小题。 ‎ ‎1.What does Yu Dan do?‎ ‎___________________________________________________________________ ‎ ‎2.True or false.(“T”代表正确,“F”代表错误)‎ Teenagers should be grateful to life only when we are successful or lucky. Today you can see buildings of different heights that seem to touch the sky. They are called skyscrapers(摩天大楼). ‎ It started about 90 years ago. It began like a race. It was a race for the sky.‎ First came the Woolworth Building, in 1913. It rose 792 feet(英尺) on the southern side of the city. In1930, two skyscrapers were nearing completion. The Bank of Manhattan Building rose up to 927 feet into the sky. Builders were then putting a round roof(屋顶) on the top of the Chrysler Building. It rose up to 925 feet. The Bank of Manhattan, two feet taller, seemed to be the winner.‎ A few weeks later, New Yorkers saw a strange sight. The day that the Chrysler Building was to be completed, workers raised a shiny metal, spire(尖顶) through the top of the building, adding 121 feet to the building's height! At l,048 feet, the Chrysler Building was now the world's tallest.‎ A year later, in 1931, the Empire State Building became the new winner. At 1,250 feet, it was theworld's tallest building. ‎ In 1973, even that record was broken. Builders finished the World Trade Center. At 1,368 feet high, it rose above all other buildings in New York City.‎ Time goes on. As technology improves, taller buildings are being built. The race is still on.‎ 阅读短文,根据要求完成下面各小题。 ‎ ‎1.During which period of the time did the race heat up?‎ ‎___________________________________________________________________ ‎ ‎2.True or false.(“T”代表正确,“F”代表错误)‎ The Chrysler Building the world's tallest in 1973( )‎ ‎3.Translate the underlined sentence into Chinese.‎ ‎___________________________________________________________________ ‎ 由莲山课件提供http://www.5ykj.com/ 资源全部免费 由莲山课件提供http://www.5ykj.com/ 资源全部免费 ‎4.Which skyscrapers had been the world's tallest buildings?(At least 2 buildings) ‎ ‎___________________________________________________________________ ‎ ‎___________________________________________________________________ ‎ ‎5.Give a proper title(题目) to the passage.‎ ‎___________________________________________________________________ ‎ 由莲山课件提供http://www.5ykj.com/ 资源全部免费 由莲山课件提供http://www.5ykj.com/ 资源全部免费 参考答案 ‎(一)‎ ‎1.A professor.‎ ‎2.F ‎3.对任何人来说,只要活在世上不可能总是幸运或成功的。‎ ‎4.They fight each other.
