Step 3 Listening 1. Listen to the recording and try to write correct names under the kites. 2. Ask some questions to check the answers. Step 4 Presentation &Listening Present the pictures and ask: Do you know their names? Do you know any of Mozi’s student? What did Lu Ban use to make things? Who found a new way to make paper? Where did Marco Polo come from? Listen and match each person with the correct event. ( Part A2) Tell Ss to describe the people and the events. 4. Fill in the blanks in Part A3 as many as possible with the information in Part A2. 5. Listen to the recording again and finish Part A3. Ask and answer some questions. Step 5 Speak up 1. Step 2 Presentation 1. Listen to ABC song and sing together。 2. Fill in the blanks according to the sequence of the letters. 3. English words are all made up of letters. Tell Ss to write some words beginning with “a” and “b”. 4. Find the words in the dictionary and write down the page numbers. 5. Discuss: Which word comes first? Which one comes next? Why? 6. The words in a dictionary are in alphabetical order from A to Z. This helps us find the words quickly. Look at the words on the blackboard. Because “ a” comes before “b” in alphabe tical order, all the words beginning with “a” comes b efore the words beginning with “b” in a dictionary. 7. Discuss: If two words start with the same letter, what should we do? If the first two letters are the same, what should we do? If the first three letters are the same, what should we do? Step 3 Practice 1. Put the words in Part A1 in alphabetical order and write down the numbers 1-8 in the blanks. 2. Who can find the words in the dictionary fastest? 3. Do you see the word in the top corner of each page? That’s the guide word. Guide words tell us the first and the last word s on a page in a dictionary. They tell us whether the word we want is on the page or before or after it. Gui de words can help you find the correct page quickly. 4. Now let’s learn how to use the guide words. Look at Part B. On the left are some page numbers and g uide words from a dictionary. Write down the page numbers for the words on the right. Step 4 Consolidation 1. Look up the words in a dictionary and write down the page numbers. 2. Put the words in alphabetical order and write down the numbers 1-12 in the blanks. 课后 作业 1.
