Many people know the importance of protecting the
environment. However, most of them think they can do
little to help solve the world’s environment problems. New
Yorker Lauren Singer doesn’t think so. The beautiful girl
studied environmental science at New York University.
But she not only wanted to learn about sustainability,
but she also wanted to actually live in that way. During her
last year of college, she began working towards living a
“Zero Waste” life. Since then, she has gone two years
without producing any rubbish.

supposed to be the future of this plant but here we are
messing it up with our rubbish.”
It’s “easier said than done”. The past two years hasn’t
been easy for Lauren. She stopped buying anything

the supermarket. She also stopped buying new clothes
and shopping only in secondhand stores.
