an English composer who has been referred to
as "the most commercially successful composer
in history.“ He has composed 13 musicals, some
of which have been run for years. He has also
gained a number of honors, including seven
Tony Awards, three Grammy Awards, an
Academy Award. Several of his songs, notably
"The Music of the Night" from The Phantom
of the Opera, "I Don't Know How to Love Him"
from Jesus Christ Superstar, "Don't Cry for
Me, Argentina" and "You Must Love Me" from
Evita, have been widely recorded and were hits
outside of their parent musicals. 3
• Sarah Brightman (born 14 August 1960) is an English
soprano(女高音), actress, songwriter and dancer. In
1981, she debut(首演) in Cats and met composer
Andrew Lloyd Webber, whom she married. And Webber
admitted that Christine from the Phantom of the
Opera was written for Sarah.
• After retiring from the stage and divorcing Lloyd
