含义
表示在过去某个时间发生的动作或存在的状态或在过去一段时间内经常性或习
惯性的动作
用法 当主语是第一、三人称单数时用 was;当主语是第二人称和复数时用 were

yesterday, the day before yesterday, this morning, just now, last week/month/year,
two days ago, in 2019 等
句式
结构
肯定句:主语+was/were+其他.
My father was at home last night.
昨晚我父亲在家。
否定句:主语+wasn’t/weren’t+其他.
My father was not/wasn’t at home last night.
昨晚我父亲不在家。
一般疑问句:Was/Were+主语+其他?
肯定回答:Yes, 主语+was/were.
否定回答:No, 主语+wasn’t/weren’t.
—Was your father at home last night?
昨晚你父亲在家吗?
—Yes, he was./No, he wasn’t.
是的,他在。/不,他不在。
特殊疑问句:
特殊疑问词+was/were+主语+其他?
