Karen Marsh is a famous film star.She arrived at
London Airport today.She was wearing a blue dress
and a mink coat . A report inerviewed her at the
airport.
The report asked her whether she had just made a
new film .
The report asked her whether she was going to
make another film..
She said she was going to retire.
She told reporters she felt very tired and didn't
want to make another film for a long time.

What’re the differences
between direct speech
and indirect speech?
Ø 直接引语（direct speech）：引用别人的原话时，被引用
的部分就叫直接引语。
Mother asked, “What are you doing?”
Lily asked me , “Have you seen the film?”
引语前常使用逗号而非冒
号；引号内直接引语的单
词首字母要大写。
Ø 间接引语（indirect speech）: 用自己的语言来转述别人说
的话，被转述的部分就叫间接引语。
Mother asked me what I was doing.
Lily asked me if /whether I had seen the film.
间接引语不用逗号和引号
1. Tom said, “I will finish all my homework.”
2. Lucy said, “I have seen the film. ”
直接引语为陈述句时，间接引语应改为由that引导的宾语从句（that 可以省略）
→Tom said that he would finish all his homework.
→Lucy said that she had seen the film.

一般疑问句,反意疑问句变为:
if/whether
if/whether引导的宾语从句。
1. He asked me, “Do you like learning English or Chinese?”
→He asked me whether I liked learning English or Chinese .
2. I asked, “Will you take bus or take train?”
I asked him ______ he would take bus or take train.
选择疑问句变为:
whether
whether…or…（是…还是…）引导的宾语从句。

由原来的疑问词引导的宾语从句。
