T:Do you like English? Would you like to listen to a song?
Can you sing songs?
Ask ss to listen to an English song? T: What have you heard
about the song?
T:Yao Ming can play basketball,Can you play basketball?
3.New words
Ask ss to see a “film” to introduce the new words
Teach ss to read all the words and give ss two minutes to
read by themselves.
Check the pronunciation one by one.
4.T: Let’s show yourselves again
Practice the sentence structure “I can...”using the new
words.
T: Can you play chess well? Ask one student to answer
Give ss time to practice in pairs.
A: “ Can you ...well?”
B: “Yes, I can ...well. /No, I can’ t
5. Finsh Part 1a. Match the activities with the people.
6. T:Everyone, a lot of things we can do . For me, I can
sing and dance,so I want to join a music club.
T: Here are some clubs,can you guess what club they are.
Go through the clubs one by one.

Teacher asks two students and then let the students ask
another one.
