六、教学过程：
1. Tell students they are going to carry out a short survey.
Write the following verbs on the Bb:
smell, look, taste, feel, sound
Draw a nose, an eye, a mouth, a hand and an ear on the Bb.
And check meanings as a class.
2. Show some pictures to the Ss.
And have them fill in the blanks with the verbs.
Then call back the answers from the class.
3. Explain to Ss they’re going to listen four short conversations and put the pictures in order.
Tell them to relax and not worry about understanding every word.
Ask Ss to tell you what they see in the pictures.
Write the key words on the Bb.
Play the recording. Ask Ss to listen and number the pictures.
Check answers as a class.
4. Have Ss listen again and complete the sentences.
Then call back the answers.
5. Have the Ss read the conversation slowly, to see how many food words they can find.
Then check what Betty is making.
Check answers as a class.
6. Ask Ss do Activity 4 individually.
Have them discuss the answers with their partner.
Then check answers as a class.
7. Have students read the words in the boxes in Activity 1 and 4 to the class, and ask students to
chorally repeat them.
This will give them more confidence at the feedback stage.
Ask Ss to write the words in the boxes in Activity 1 and 4 in the correct place in the table.
Tell Ss to discuss their answers with their desk partner.
Check answers as a class.
8. Play the first sentence and ask Ss which words they think the speaker stresses.
Then play the second sentence and ask Ss to underlined the words the speaker stresses.
Play the sentences again and tell Ss to listen and repeat chorally.
Check answers as a class.
9. Check that Ss know the meaning of the words in the box.
Ask Ss the example question and then model it for pronunciation, getting Ss to repeat.
Use open pairs. Ask one of the Ss to ask another student across the room the question.
10. Then do some exercises in class.
Call back the answers from the class.
