Teaching Plan Textbook: Oxford S2B Subject: Unit 5:Living in harmony - Green Orchids(1st period) 教学设计说明 一、阅读教材分析 本堂课教材选自牛津英语上海版,高二年级 SB2。本文是一个故事,描写了利欲熏心的 商人 Harry Saleem为了建大坝,不顾生态平衡,破坏热带雨林,他的贪婪让他最终丧失了活 命的机会。在引导学生对文章进行整体理解的同时,让学生学会如何通过言语来反映人物的 性格,并培养学生的环境保护意识,认识到整个生态环境对人类生存的重要性。 二、教学目标 1.知识目标:学生能够了解文章的大意,明确故事的人物、情节。 2.能力目标:培养学生对人物性格、情节线索的分析。 3.情感目标:培养学生的环境保护意识;学生能够明白在做选择时要慎重。 三、教学过程 1.这节课是 reading 的第一课时。在 warming-up 的部分,由已故天王迈克.杰克逊的一 曲“heal the world”将学生融入到保护环境,为人类创造美好家园这一主题氛围中。 2.在故事的阅读和分析的环节中,先通过 skiming环节让学生对故事的人物,地点,背 景,及主要的事件有个大概的了解。然后以 choice 为线索,从 choice one, choice two 和 consequence(no choice)三个部分重点展开阅读。并通过对文本的阅读,让学生找出关于作者 对于主人公 Saleem的外貌,和语言的描绘,并再此基础上分析人物性格,使得学生对于这 一人物形象有个较为清晰的认识,也达到教育的目的——太过贪婪终将害己害人。最后在 post-reading部分,让学生通过首字母填空,也是对文章做个总结。 3.作业布置环节,让学生在熟读课文,并试着用自己的话来复述这个故事。 Teaching Aims: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to 1. get the general idea of the text and basic elements of a story: setting, character, plot. 2. learn to analyze the character and plot of the story. 3. understand the importance of environmental protection and know that everyone should be careful when making the choices. Teaching Aids: Multimedia Teaching Procedures: Step Teacher’s Activities Students’Activities Purposes Step 1 Pre-task Warming-up:Play a song: heal the world and raise a question:What does this song tell us? Listen to the song and share the feelings of this song To focus students’ attention on the topic of living in harmony Step 2 While-task Ask students to find the setting, character and Saleem’s choices. Read the first four paragraphs. To help students get the general idea of the story. Ask students to read para5-8 for specific information about Saleem’s first choice. Read para5-8 and answer the questions. To help students find specific information of the story. Ask students to read the rest part of the text and find Saleem’s second choice and its consequence. Read para9-13 and answer the questions. To have students find specific information of the story. Have students to work in pairs to analyze Saleem’s personality by focus on his words and physical descirptions. Discuss with their partners and express opinions. To have a further understanding of the Hero. Step 3 Post-reading Have students fill in the blaks with the first letter to complete the summary of the story. Fill in the blanks.
