教学设计说明
一、阅读教材分析
本堂课教材选自牛津英语上海版，高二年级 SB2。本文是一个故事，描写了利欲熏心的
商人 Harry Saleem为了建大坝，不顾生态平衡，破坏热带雨林，他的贪婪让他最终丧失了活
命的机会。在引导学生对文章进行整体理解的同时，让学生学会如何通过言语来反映人物的
性格，并培养学生的环境保护意识，认识到整个生态环境对人类生存的重要性。
二、教学目标
1.知识目标：学生能够了解文章的大意，明确故事的人物、情节。
2.能力目标：培养学生对人物性格、情节线索的分析。
3.情感目标：培养学生的环境保护意识；学生能够明白在做选择时要慎重。
三、教学过程
1.这节课是 reading 的第一课时。在 warming-up 的部分，由已故天王迈克.杰克逊的一
曲“heal the world”将学生融入到保护环境，为人类创造美好家园这一主题氛围中。
2.在故事的阅读和分析的环节中，先通过 skiming环节让学生对故事的人物，地点，背
景，及主要的事件有个大概的了解。然后以 choice 为线索，从 choice one, choice two 和
consequence(no choice)三个部分重点展开阅读。并通过对文本的阅读，让学生找出关于作者
对于主人公 Saleem的外貌，和语言的描绘，并再此基础上分析人物性格，使得学生对于这
一人物形象有个较为清晰的认识，也达到教育的目的——太过贪婪终将害己害人。最后在
post-reading部分，让学生通过首字母填空，也是对文章做个总结。
3.作业布置环节，让学生在熟读课文，并试着用自己的话来复述这个故事。
