Plants (Unit3, S1A Oxford English) 教学设计说明: 1. 本堂课是阅读教学第一课时,课题是牛津教材 S1A Unit 3 的 Reading “Plants”,是一篇 关于四种常见植物介绍的说明文。通过对这些植物的简单介绍让学生了解我们的自然世 界,该篇文章的组织结构非常清晰,但是所涉及的词汇有些生涩,需要先让学生对这些 植物名称有所了解,通过学生事先自己查找相关资料和教师教学过程中注意引导,让他 们理解文章内容。 2. 本课教学知识目标为:让学生熟悉这些植物的相关词汇和课文的内容,即这些植物的外 形,习性和作用。能力目标:训练学生的阅读技能和口语表达,增进团队合作能力,就 生活中常见植物功效的描述能力。情感目标:让学生了解植物对我们环境的重要性,意 识到爱护植物和保护环境的重要意义。 教学步骤分 pre-reading,while-reading 和 post-reading a) 在 pre-reading 中 让学生通过猜出各种常见植物的名称以激发他们对文章的阅读兴 趣,然后带着问题去略读,查读,细读。 b) skimming 让学生对文章有个初步的了解。 c) Scanning 让学生根据相关描述来定位是哪种植物。 d) Detailed-reading 以帮助学生深入了解文章中介绍的 4 种植物信息。在细读过程中引 导学生找出这些植物所具有的特性,在阅读过程中通过寻找出中心句和段落内举例 等阅读策略的指导让学生更好的理解文章内容,找出相关信息。 e) post-reading 中向学生展示日常生活中常见的植物,以了解它们的功效,而之后讨论 活动的设计以围绕环境保护为主,以激发他们的环保意识。 3. 对此篇文章阅读能力的训练,内容的理解,只是教学目的的一部分,在教材活动共的设 计中,考虑到将教学生活化,让学生熟悉的一些有趣的植物为出发,让他们有意识的去 关注日常生活中随处可见的植物,以图片展示,猜测花名等形式来扩充他们对植物的知 识面,借此形式,再延伸到现实生活中许多植物因为环境,气候等的影响濒临绝种,以 此激起他们对植物,动物,环保的意识。而课堂活动形式的多样化可以充分调动学生的 学习兴趣,让他们在竞赛中表现自己,在合作中互相帮助,以较轻松的课堂氛围来交流 所思所想,所感所得。 Teaching Aims 1.Language :to enable the students to grasp the general knowledge of the transcript 2. Skills: to practise their oral English, and enhance their team spirit through group task to improve their capability of skimming and scanning to help them gain a higher level of competence in English through practice 3.Emotions :to arouse students’ interest in learning more about plants to foster within them a sense of love for nature and become fully aware of the importance of environmental protection Teaching focus :To improve their reading ability by finding he topic sentence and examples in each paragraph Teaching difficulties: to arouse within the students a sense of love for nature and be fully aware of the importance of environmental protection Teaching Aids : Multimedia (a teaching courseware) Teaching Procedure : Stages Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Purposes Pre-reading T will ask students to tell the names of the plants by showing the pictures of them. Students will try to figure out the English names of these plants. To arouse students’ interest and lead in the topic; to help them enlarge their vocabulary through the game. While-reading Skimming+Scanning T will have students skim the transcript for some general information. T will have students scan the transcript to find the names of the plants which match the descriptions in the table. Students will look at the pictures and read the first sentence of each paragraph for the general information. students will scan the transcript according to the descriptions provided in the table. To help students get a general idea of the whole transcript by finding the topic sentences and examples in each paragraph. While-reading Detailed reading of the transcript T will ask students to read each part of the transcript more intensively for the most impressive characteristic of each plant in the transcript. Students read the transcript to get the detailed information about each plant and its major functions. To have students focus on details for better understanding of the features of each plant. To guide students to use their own words to summarize the features and functions of each plant. Post-reading T will show students the pictures of come common plants in our daily life T will ask students to discuss the importance of environmental protection. Students make a list of the functions of these plants. Students discuss in groups and then share their viewpoints in class. To have students be fully aware of the importance of environmental protection and foster within them a sense of love for nature. Homework Read the passage thoroughly to finish the exercises in the textbook Write an essay to describe a plant you are familiar with and its main functions.
