教材分析:
Friend or enemy 属于戏剧题材,主要通过 Winston 和 Betty 两个主人公之间
围绕话题 spiders 而展开的戏剧。
从文本特征来看,对话,语调和舞台指导搭建了戏剧文本。而作为高中的一
种新文本题材,教师需要引导学生关注教材中括号内的斜体部分的舞台说明和人
物的语调,帮助同学们认识到戏剧题材文章的特点和阅读方法。本文通过舞台说
明和语音语调形象生动地刻画了 Betty和 Winston 对蜘蛛截然不同的态度和情感,
对学生学习戏剧特点有很大的帮助,也是文章题材上的一个重点。
从文本内容上来讲,文本讲述的是 Betty 在厨房中看到一只蜘蛛,惊恐害怕,
因而想要丈夫杀死它。但是 Winston 在看过一个电视节目后认识到蜘蛛是有用生
物,故而表达反对意见,并希望能通过三个蜘蛛的益处来动摇 Betty 对蜘蛛的态
度。因此这三个蜘蛛的益处是文本内容的重点。
学情分析:
这是学生第一次接触戏剧题材,对文章的基本结构较为陌生,需要教师在开
篇之时为同学们介绍清楚戏剧的基本构成和重点关注部分。在词汇方面,较为生
疏的词汇多为名词, 教师需要通过图片,实物示范等方式来引导学生猜测词义。
另外,教师应该加强学生语音语调上的变化,加强学生对文本的理解和解读,从
而体会主人公情感态度变化。
高一(1)班学生英语基础较差,对英语也缺乏兴趣,需要调动听说读三感
来使其提高学习的兴趣。因此简单的开头部分我采用听的方法,帮助同学们感受
Betty 对蜘蛛的认知和情感态度,进一步加深同学们对戏剧文本题材的理解。最
后我打算用 role-play 活动,让同学们带着情感大声朗读文本,从而彻底理解文本
内容和题材中展现出来的人物对蜘蛛的情感态度。
Teaching objectives:
1. To enable students to know the meaning of some new words and expressions (shelter, survive,
emerge, elastic, property, artificial organs, get your point).
2. To enable students to understand the development of the characters’ different opinions on
spiders and why spiders are useful to human beings from the 3 perspectives.
