Until relatively recently, the vast majority of human beings lived and died without ever seeing a city. The first city was probably founded no more than 5,500 years ago... In fact, nearly everyone lived on farms or in tiny rural (乡村 的) villages. It was not until the 20th century that Great Britain became the first urban society in history — a society in which the majority of people live in cities and do not farm for a living. Britain was only the beginning. 2 The process of urbanization — the migration (迁移) of people from the countryside to the city — was the result of modernization, which has rapidly transformed how people live and where they live. D. Soon many other industrial nations became urban societies. Business management is a term used to describe the techniques of planning, direction, and control of the operations of a business. 3 One is the establishment (制定) of broad basic policies with respect to production; sales; the purchase of equipment, materials and supplies; and accounting. G. Planning in business management has three main aspects. Making good choices about your own health requires reasonable evaluation. A key first step in bettering your evaluation ability is to look carefully at your sources of health information. Reasonable evaluation includes knowing where and how to find relevant information, how to separate fact from opinion, how to recognize poor reasoning, and how to analyze information and the reliability of sources… Go to the original source. Media reports often simplify the results of medical research. Find out for yourself what a study really reported, and determine whether it was based on good science. Think about the type of study. ____2____ Watch for misleading language. Some studies will find that a behavior "contributes to" or is "associated with" an outcome; this does not mean that a certain course must lead to a certain result… Carefully read or listen to information in order to fully understand it.Use your common sense. If a report seems too good to be true, probably it is. Be especially careful of information contained in advertisements… Evaluate " scientific " statements carefully, and be aware of quackery G. The following suggestions can help you sort through the health information you receive from common sources. 注意在选项中查找表示结果、结论、总结等的信号词,如:therefore, as a result, thus, hence,in short,to sum up,to conclude,in a word 等词语,选项中也可发现前文 的同义词句。 4 As part of a healthy diet, eat more fruits and vegetables each day. Vitamins (维生 素) C and E help protect eyesight and promote eye health. A. Eat your greens. 故选 A 项。 语篇标记语可以是 表示时间顺序的 first, then, next 等;表达作者组织语篇方式的 for example,in other words,in short 等。 Protect against UV rays ( 紫 外 线 ). Long-term stay in the sun creates risk to your eyes. No matter what the season is, it’s extremely important to wear sunglasses. 2 C. They can properly protect your eyes. No matter what the season is , it’s extremely important to wear sunglasses. 如果空格前后两句话之间有 however(然 而),nevertheless(然而,不过),still(还,仍然),though(可是,不过,然而),yet(然而),on the contrary(正 相反),in contrast(与此相反,相比之下),in comparison(比较起来,与…… Don’t forget to forgive yourself. 5 But it can rob you of your self-confidence if you don’t do it. E. For some people, forgiving themselves is the biggest challenge. 有时,前后的句 子之间出现 as a result(结果),thus/therefore(因此),so(such)...that(如此…… Large cities were impossible until agriculture became industrialized. Even in advanced agricultural societies, it took about ninety-five people on farms to feed five people in cities. 4 A. That kept cities very small. 如果空格前后两句话之间有 also(也,而 且),further(进一步地,而且),furthermore(而且,此外),likewise(同样地,也),similarly(相同地,类 似地),moreover(而且,此外),in addition(另外,加之),what’s more(更重要的是),not only...but also(不但…… Over the past two centuries, the Industrial Revolution has broken this balance between the city and the country. _____5____ Today, instead of needing ninety-five farmers to feed five city people, one American farmer is able to feed more than a hundred non-farmers. F. Modernization drew people to the cities and made farmers more productive. 【答案】F (5)从行文逻辑上判断——并列关系 如果空格前后两句话之间有 first(首先,第一),second(第二),third(第三);firstly(第一,首先), secondly(第二(点),其次),thirdly(第三);first(第一),next(其次),then(那么,然后);in the first place(第 一,首先),in the second place(第二,其次);for one thing(首先,一则),for another(其次);to begin with(首先,第一)等词或词组,则表明前后两句是逻辑上的并列关系,空格处很有可能是个并列的句子。 One is the establishment (制定) of broad basic policies with respect to production; sales; the purchase of equipment, materials and supplies; and accounting. 4 The third relates to the establishment of standards of work in all departments. E. The second aspect relates to the application of these policies by departments. (3) 因果关系:前后句的逻辑是因果关系,常见的逻辑表达有:because, for, since, as, the reason is that, result in/from, due to, in response to 等。 注意代词或定冠词:it, they, this, the… 5. 注意特殊疑问词及标点符号: why, where, when, what… 6. 注意连词: however, so, though, not only…but also, also ... 7. 常见的关联词主要有: 并列与递进关系:and, or, also, neither, nor, either, or, likewise, similarly, equally, in the same way, that is to say, as well as, the same as, besides, additionally, furthermore, moreover, in addition to, what’s more 等。 因果关系:because, for, since, as, thus, hence, therefore, so, so that, consequently, accordingly, due to, thanks to, as a result, because of, in that, for this reason, of course 等。 转折关系:but, however, yet, on the contrary, by contrast, on the other hand, unfortunately, while, whereas, unlike, rather than, instead of, it is true that, of course, although, though, even though, even if, nevertheless, despite, in spite of 等。 时 间 关 系 : afterwards, at first, at last, finally, first, firstly, in the first place, to start with, in the meantime, last, later, next, second, secondly, then, third, thirdly, to begin with 等。 看标点,大小写; 冠名代,特关键; K(=key words)F(=foretelling)C(=connection),细品味; 主旨过渡细节类。 高考真题 题组一 2019 年真题 Passage 1(2019·新课标全国卷 I) Is Fresh Air Really Good for You? Is their money well spent? ___47___They focused on football, basketball and baseball. The results are mixed For football and basketball, adding talented players to a team proves a good method, but only up to the point where 70% of the players are top talent ; above that level, the team’s performance begins to decline. To explain this phenomenon , the researchers explored the degree to which a good performance by a team requires its members to coordinate(协调)their actions.______48______In baseball, the performance of individual players is less dependent on teammates. They conclude that when task interdependence is high, team performance will suffer when there is too much talent , while individual talent will have positive effects on team performance when task interdependence is lower. If a basketball star is. for example, trying to gain a high personal point total,he may take a shot himself when it would be better to pass the ball to a teammate , affecting the team's performance. Young children learning to play team sports are often told, “There is no I in TEAM.”___49___ Another possibility is that when there is a lot of talent on a team, some players may make less effort. Just as in a game of tug-of-war(拔河比赛),whenever a person is added, everyone else pulls the rope with less force. ___50___.An A-team may require a balance-not just A players, but a few generous B players as well. A grasp of how to manage color in your spaces is one of the first steps to creating rooms you’ll love to live in. Do you want a room that’s full of life? Professional? Or are you just looking for a place to relax after a long day? 36 , color is the key to making a room feel the way you want it to feel. Over the years, there have been a number of different techniques to help designers approach this important point. 37 , they can get a little complex. But good news is thatthere’re really only three kinds of decisions you need to make about color in your home: the small ones, the medium ones, and the large ones. 38 . They’re the little spots of color like throw pillows, mirrors and baskets that most of us use to add visual interest to our rooms. Less tiring than painting your walls and less expensive than buying a colorful sofa, small color choices bring with them the significant benefit of being easily changeable. Medium color choices are generally furniture pieces such as sofas, dinner tables or bookshelves. 39 . They require a bigger commitment than smaller ones, and they have a more powerful effect on the feeling of a space. The large color decisions in your rooms concern the walls, ceilings, and floors. Whether you’re looking at wallpaper or paint, the time, effort and relative expense put into it are significant. 40 . A. While all of them are useful B. Whatever you’re looking for C. Don't overdo the news Although adults may want to watch and listen to the news, a little goes a long way for children. There's a difference between being prepared and being overwhelmed, especially for kids. 2 , For example, when you have anxious kids watching the TV or anxious families, you may see a growth in kids' anxiety; in other words, when parents do doom and gloom and watch TV a lot, they're hurting their children. It's the responsibility of parents and caregivers to control their kids' media consumption; they simply do not need to know everything. 3 As in all areas of parenting, it's up to parents to assess how much their kid can take. If you know your child is more anxious than the next kid or has a sensitive temperament, you have to deal with it differently. It's not so much about keeping kids away from every bit of information, and it's that you handle it differently. 4 Emphasize agency At home or in school, parents and educators can help kids carry out environmental studies with steps such as having kids organize a challenge to increase the number of students bringing reusable bottles to school. 5 Inviting children to brainstorm ideas for environmental studies gives them hope. Families can support an environmental organization, plan a park cleanup or host a bake sale to raise money for habitat preservation of a kid's favorite endangered animal. Manage what you can manage None of us will be able to make a dent in all aspects of climate change on our own, but we can break down the issues into bite-size, manageable pieces. We can explore the many ways in which we can change outcomes, whether that's supporting science to help manage rising sealevels, getting involved in politics to protect those who have to leave flooded land, or helping move displaced people. A. Know your child B. Teach kids action C. Here are some ways to help children be part of the team D. The news can't be too much, especially if a child is sensitive E. They also can help students research how many species have thrived F. You change the words depending on their age and what they can handle G. Without hope, you're not going to have action and thus not going to have hope 【文章大意】本文探讨了一些方法来帮助孩子们成为减轻气候变化影响的团队的一员。 1. It is not just a romance novel, but an educational story. Women can learn so much from this great Victorian heroine. But she learns a lot about letting go when she is sent to a boarding school and makes friends with Helen. 3 Jane notes, “The world was a varied field of hopes and excitement waiting for those who had the courage to go forth.” If Jane hadn’t been brave, she might have returned to the cruel woman who raised her. This is not to suggest that Jane didn’t have shortcomings.” 2.D 【解析】根据本空前的“Jane Eyre is made miserable as a child by her horrible relatives.” 3.B 【解析】根据本空后的“The world was a varied field of hopes and excitement waiting for those who had the courage to go forth.” 4.C 【解析】根据本空前的“t is much better to talk about things than to hide unspoken anger.” 5.G【解析】根据本空前的“When Jane was younger, she had a tendency to feel sorry for herself.” Birds are wonderful both as pets and as visitors to the garden. If you’re considering bird ownership, the care requirements include providing good housing, nutritious food and keeping an eye on the bird’s health. Choose the bird species with care. 1 It is very important to learn as much as you can about the species before deciding which bird you will choose. The bird must match your lifestyle, interests and ability to take good care of it. 2 The cage size should be big enough for the bird to put its wings out straight from side to side. Since small cages tend to lead to behavior problems, space in the cage is important — the bigger the space in the cage, the better. Feed the bird regularly at about the same time each day. This could be when you eat, or maybe earlier. 3 So the bird knows when to expect its food. Besides, provide the bird with average temperature water and change it daily to ensure the freshness. Keep the cage properly and regularly cleaned. A clean cage reduces the risk of your bird suffering from bacteria. Regular removal of bird droppings is very important for keeping the bird healthy. 4 Give the bird lots of attention. Talk to your bird as it rides around the house. This is necessary during the first couple of years. 5 For example, some birds will perfectly mimic(模仿) the sound of you moving the cleaning cloth over the stove or table. A. Not all bird species are appropriate as pets. B. Anyhow, choose a time and try to stick to it. C. Purchase the right kind of cage for housing the bird. D. If your bird gets lots of attention, he or she will be happier as a whole. E. Identify the exact food needed by the species of bird you’re caring for. F. Birds are fast learners and will surprise you with their range of sound effects.G. Moreover, a bird living in a clean environment tends to be more active and happier. Choose the bird species with care"及空后的"It is very important to learn as much as you can about the species before deciding which bird you will choose" 可知,选鸟时要很小心,且在下决定前要尽可能多地了解有关鸟类的信息。 The cage size should be big enough for the bird to put its wings out straight from side to side"和"space in the cage is important — the bigger the space in the cage, the better"可知,本段主要介绍的是鸟笼的大小、空间方面的内容,故 C 项"购买合适的笼子来安置鸟"符 合语境。 Feed the bird regularly at about the same time each day"及空后的 "So the bird knows when to expect its food"可知,空处内容与给鸟喂食有关,且与空后一句构成 因果关系,故 B 项"无论如何,选择一个时间并努力坚持下去"符合语境。 A clean cage reduces the risk of your bird suffering from bacteria. Regular removal of bird droppings is very important for keeping the bird healthy"可知,空处的内容应 该与保持鸟笼干净的重要性或好处有关,故 G 项"此外,生活在洁净环境中的鸟往往会更活泼,更快 乐"符合语境。 Talk to your bird as it rides around the house"及空后所举的例子可知,此处内 容应是关于给予鸟关注,与鸟说话的结果。F 项中的"their range of sound effects"与下文中的 "perfectly mimic(模仿) the sound"相呼应,故选 F。 Business is the organized approach to providing customers with the goods and services they want. The word business also refers to an organization that provides these goods and services. Most businesses seek to make a profit(利润)— that is, they aim to achieve income that is more than the costs of operating the business. _____1_____ Commonly called nonprofits, theseorganizations are primarily nongovernmental service providers. _____2_____ Business management is a term used to describe the techniques of planning, direction, and control of the operations of a business. 3 One is the establishment(制定)of broad basic policies with respect to production; sales; the purchase of equipment, materials and supplies; and accounting. 4 The third relates to the establishment of standards of work in all departments. Direction is concerned primarily with supervision(监管)and guidance by the management in authority. 5 A. Planning in business management has three main aspects. B. In the theory of business management, organization has two main aspects. C. The second aspect relates to the application of these policies by departments. D. However, some businesses only seek to earn enough to cover their operating costs. E. In this connection there is the difference between top management and operative management. F. Control includes the use of records and reports to compare actual work with the set standards for work. G. Examples of nonprofit business include such organizations as social service agencies and may hospitals. 2. G 【解析】根据文意,前文提到的 these organizations are primarily nongovernmental service providers 中的 these organizations 实指 nonprofits organizations,所以此处第 2 题的内容应该 是对 nongovernmental service providers(非政府服务提供商)的进一步解释。
