You can borrow mine.‎ Text 2‎ W: The ticket is twenty dollars each for adults and half price for children and students.‎ M: All the three of us are adults, but one is a kid.‎ Text 3‎ M: Excuse me. Is this the right floor for the restaurant?‎ W: This is the third floor. The dining room is on the fourth floor, but it’s only open for lunch and dinner. In the morning we use the coffee bar on the first floor, or you can eat in your room.‎ Text 4‎ M: I’ve lost my job and I have to get a job now. I could try writing to all the companies I used to deal with.‎ W: Why not ring them and speak to them?‎ M: Actually, I’ll visit them. Most of them are local and I can make a better impression in person.‎ Text 5‎ M: He is very famous in Europe, right?‎ W: Yes, but actually his songs and movies are not so good.‎ M: That’s true. I once saw one of his movies; it’s really boring.‎ 第二节 听下面5段对话或独白。 ‎ Text 6‎ M: Do we still have far to go? This carry-on bag is really hurting my shoulder.‎ W: We’re almost here. The plane’s gate is just up those stairs there. Then we’ll be home two hours later. What do you have in your bag anyway?‎ M: Oh, I picked up some CDs and toys for my kids. The prices are unbelievably low here in Hong Kong.‎ W: This must be your first trip here. I remember picking up many things when I first came here, because they are really much more expensive in our hometown.‎ 听第7段材料,回答第8至9题。 ‎ Text 7‎ W: How did you find our place? From the Internet or the newspaper?‎ M: Oh, I saw a for-rent sign on your window. I am looking for a two-bedroom apartment.‎ W: You are in luck. We do have an apartment available for rent on the fifth floor, and I think it may be exactly what you’re looking for. It has two bedrooms, and the rent is quite reasonable. In fact, I don’t think you will be able ‎ to find a place like this or a price this low anywhere near here.‎ M: Really? Do you think I can take a look at it right now? I am really in a hurry to find a place.‎ W: Of course. Just give me a second, and I will get the key.‎ 听第8段材料,回答第10至12题。 ‎ Text 8‎ M: I’ve been thinking about joining the student literary society. It’s on the top floor of the English building. I went to a couple of their meetings in my freshman year, and it seemed pretty interesting.‎ W: Now that you mention it, I do remember this group. My friend Janet joined last year.‎ M: She did? How has she liked it?‎ W: I think she likes it a lot. I remember her talking about a poetry journal or something like that.‎ M: That’s right. They publish a small book of student poetry every spring.‎ W: Right. Janet said she was interested in helping out on that.‎ M: Does she like to write poetry?‎ W: Not really. She’s more interested in making improvements to the poems and preparing for the publication.‎ 听第9段材料,回答第13至16题。 ‎ Text 9‎ W: On today’s program, we have Captain George with us. Welcome, George.‎ M: Thank you. I’m very pleased to be here. ‎ W: A lot of people have to think about safety in their jobs. But for pilots, safety is extremely important, isn’t it?‎ M: Absolutely. To get an airline pilot’s license you need a minimum number of hours’ flying time. You must have at least 1,500 hours. And you must be at least 23 years old.‎ W: Sure. And do all pilots have to be able to speak English? Is that a requirement?‎ M: Yes. To fly internationally.‎ W: What are the main safety steps you have to follow?‎ M: We have a lot of checklists. There are things you must always check before each flight. The first thing is, you walk around the plane, outside, and check that ... you know, nothing’s broken.‎ W: That there are no breaks in the wings!‎ M: Actually, most planes have breaks in their wings. Very, very small ones. It’s perfectly safe.‎ W: Right. And you can still land if an engine breaks down, can’t you?‎ M: You can take off if an engine breaks down. If it happens a few seconds before take-off, um ... the procedure is, you mustn’t try to stop, because the runway isn’t long enough. So you take off, fly around the airport, and then land again.‎ 听第10段材料,回答第17至20题。 ‎ Text 10‎ Right, everyone—about the trip to the Jubilee Arts Center next Wednesday. As you know, we have tickets for the Center’s two theaters. Those with tickets for the main theater will see Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, while people going to the smaller theater will see The Wild Duck by Ibsen. Although all the theater and concert tickets have gone, if anyone else would like to join us on the trip I can get tickets for the Arts Center cinema to see the Australian comedy film, Spider and Rose. The shows begin at 7:30, but we’ll leave early so you can spend time looking around the Arts Center. The bus will leave here at 3:30 and arrive at the Arts Center at about 4:45. In the Art Gallery of the Center there’s an exhibition of the history of Russian ballet. It has dresses and shoes worn by famous dancers and photos of past performances. With your student card, you can get in very cheaply. There are also some interesting free exhibitions. On the ground floor you can see many paintings, and gold jewelry made by Scottish artists. On the first floor there’s an exhibition of South American photographs, and there’s no charge for that either. The shows will finish at 10:10 or 10:15. After the shows the bus will pick us up at the Bridge Street exit. Everyone should be there by 10:20. OK, that’s all. ‎
