When you are learning English, can you make a foreign friend to practice it? Talk about the ways to learn English Step 2. New words. learn to read the new words. learn to use the key words. ① foreign 外国的 They are foreigns. They are our foreign friends. ② understand 懂得;理解 We should understand each other. ③ Canadian 加拿大人的;加拿大人 They are Canadians.They are Li Jing 's a Canadian friends! ④could 能;可能 can 的过去式 ⑤loudly 高声地;大声地; 吵闹地 Could you speak more loudly? Step 3. Listen and answer. Let's Do It ! Listen and write true(T)or false(F). Jenny calls Li Ming from Canada. ( ) Li Jing is Li Ming’s cousin. ( ) Li Jing loves learning English. Step 5.Language points. 1.So Li Ming calls Jenny. call sb.意为“给某人打电话”。 I often call my grandparents after school.放学后我经常给爷爷奶奶打电话。 英语中“给某人打电话”的说法: (1)telephone/phone sb./make a phone call to sb. (2)call sb./call sb. up/give sb. a call (3)ring sb./ring sb. up/give sb. a ring 2.This is Jenny speaking. 打电话时,this 表示“我”,that 表示“你”。句型: May/Can I speak to…? Is that Li Ming speaking? 是李明吗? ①打电话用语: Is that…speaking?(请问)你是……吗? Who’s that? / Who is speaking? / May I have your name, please? 你是谁? This is…(speaking). / It’s…here./…speaking. 我是…… ②要某人接电话一般用: Can/May/Could I speak to..., please? 请问我能和……通电话吗? 答语 :Certainly./Sure./Of course.当然可以。Hold on, please./Wait a minute, please./Hold on for a moment, please./One moment, please. 请稍等。 3.Sorry,I can’t follow you. follow 用作动词,意为“听懂,明白”。 Do you follow me?你能听懂我的话吗? 【拓展】 (1)follow 的用法很多,除表示“明白”外,还可表示“跟着,听从,遵循, 沿着,仿效”等。 Monday follows Sunday. 星期一在星期日之后。 Follow the traffic rules.遵循交通规则。 (2) follow sb.to do sth.意为“跟着某人做某事”。 I followed him to go to the station. 我跟他去了车站。 4.Could you speak more loudly? 这里 more 构成比较级,表示“更……”,修饰多音 节和某些双音节单词。由形容词在末尾加-ly 变过来的副词,一般都用 more 构成 比较级。 Walk more quickly, or we will be late.走快点,否则我们会迟到的。 loudly/'laʊdlɪ/ adv. 高声地, 大声地;吵闹地 loudly 是 loud 的副词形式, 其比较级为 more loudly。 aloud 意思是“出声地”。 eg:He knocked at the door loudly. 他敲门敲得很大声。 John speaks loud and clear. 约翰说话响亮而清楚。 Jim read the letter aloud. 吉姆出声读了这封信。 5.How do you practice? practice 用作动词,意为“练习”,接名词、代词或 v.-ing。 I’m going to practice my piano now.我现在要去练习钢琴了。 The students practice playing basketball every day.学生们每天练习打篮球。 【拓展】 practice 还可以用作名词,意为“练习”。 We need more practice.我们需要更多的练习。 Step 6.
