I must find it. look for/ find/ find out (1) look for意为“寻找”,强调找的动作和 过 程。 (2) find意为“找到;发现”,强调找的结果。 (3) find out意为“查出;获知”,强调经过 研 究、调查而得知。 e.g. Can you find out what time the train will leave? 你能查出火车什么时候开吗? I’m tidy, but Gina is not. 我很整洁,但是吉娜却不。 but conj. 但是 (表示转折关系) e.g. He is very rich, but he isn’t happy. 他很富有,但是他并不幸福。 but / and / or / so but“但是”,表示转折关系。 and“和”,表示并列关系。三者或更多项 并列时,只在最后两项间加and。 or ①“或者”,用于疑问句中表示选择。 ②“和”,用于否定句中表示并列关系。 ③“否则”,用于表示假设,相当于 if…not。 so“因此”,表示结果,不能和because同时 使用。 9. What about this dictionary? “What/ How about…?” “……怎么样?” 其后接名词、代词、动词-ing形式。 常用在以下场合: (1) 向对方一处建议或请求。 What about going out for a walk? 出去散步好吗? (2) 征询对方的看法或意见。 What about her playing the violin? (你认为)她的小提琴拉的怎么样? 人称代词、物主代词和指示代词 一、人称代词 1. 人称代词分为主格和宾格,有人称和数 的变化。如: 单数 复数 主格 I you she he it we you they 宾格 me you her him it us you them 2. 人称代词的主格在句中充当主语。如: She is a teacher. 人称代词的宾格在句中充当动词、介词 的宾语或表语。如: Do the children like them? (作动词的宾语) The cake is for him. (作介词的宾语) —Who is knocking at the door? —It’s me. (作表语) 二、物主代词 1. 物主代词分为形容词性物主代词和名词性物 主代词,也有人称和数的变化。如: 单数 复数 形容 词性 物主 代词 my your her his its our your their 名词 性物 主代 词 mine yours hers his its ours yours theirs 2. 形容词性物主代词后面接名词,不单独使 用。如: My parents are teachers. 3. 名词性物主代词后面不需要加名词,相当 于“形容词性物主代词+名词”。如: The schoolbags on the desk are theirs. (theirs = their schoolbags) 4. 名词性物主代词可与of连用,相当于 “of+ 名词所有格”,表示部分概念。如: She is a friend of mine. 三、指示代词 1. 常用的指示代词单数有this和that,复数 有these和those。 2. this / these 1) 近指。如: This is Lisa’s mobile phone. These are their books. 2) 指下文要提到的事。如: Please remember this: No pains, no gains. 3. that / those 1) 远指。如: That’s my father’s computer. Those are Susan’s new books. 2) 指前面刚刚提到过的事或用来代替上 文已提到的带定冠词的名词。如: He was ill. That was why he didn’t go to school. The machines we use today are much better than those we used ten years ago. 4. 打电话时用this介绍自己,用that询问对 方。如: This is Jerry speaking. Who’s that? 一般疑问句、特殊疑问句 一般疑问句一般是指用Yes或No来回答的疑 问句。常用的句式有以下三种: 1. 含有be动词的一般疑问句的句式结构为: Be+主语+其它? 2. 含有情态动词(如can等)的一般疑问句 的句式结构为:情态动词+主语+动词原 形+其它? 3. 含有实义动词的一般疑问句,就要借助 助动词do或does(主语是第三人称单数 时,要用 does ,其余人称用do ),句式 结构为:Do / Does+主语+动词原形+其它? e.g. Is he a musician? Can Bill speak Chinese? Does your mother often watch TV in the evening? 特殊疑问句由疑问词引导,不同的疑问词 用来询问不同的对象。 疑问词 + 一般疑问句(系动词 / 助动词 / 情 态动词 + 主语 + 其他)? e.g. Who is that boy? What can I do for you? 注意:疑问词在句中作主语或者修饰主语 时,句子要用陈述句语序。如: Who has an English dictionary now? What color is your favorite? •what意为“什么”,通常用来询问名字、 电 话号码或某物。 e.g. What’s your name / telephone number / favorite subject? What is this (in English)? what后可跟名词,一起引导特殊疑问句。 e.g. What color is it? •who意为“谁”,用来询问人。如: e.g. Who do you like to help? •where用于询问人或物品的位置 e.g. —Where is / Where’s Tom? —He is in the room. / In the room.
