一.Warming up :

二.Pre-reading:
Ask students to watch a short video about a speech.After watching it,let students try to
summarize the features of the speech.
三.While-reading:
1. Ask students to skim the passage and then choose the main idea for each
paragraph:
a. the reason why she thanks teachers
b. to call on everyone to say thanks
c. to be proud to give the speech
d. the reason why she thanks parents
e. the reason why she thanks friends
f. to thank three groups of people
2. Ask students to read the passage carefully and try to find sentences which shows:
a. the three groups of people the speaker wants to thank
b. The three things the speaker has learnt
c. What the speaker has learnt from each group of people
3. Deal with some details together and then ask students to try to retell the passage.
四.Post-reading(Brainstorming):
After learning the passage, can you summarize what we can say if we want to
show thanks to others.
Task:Imagine you are going to give a speech at your school-leavers’party,what will
you say?
五.Homework:
1. You should do: Try to retell the passage after the class.
2. You can do:Try to write a composition about the people you want to thank.
