This city brings me a lot of memories because I went there for my graduation trip from high school. We left in the first week of September. We were a group of 50 students and it was the best trip ever. We visited different places such as Isla Victoria which you reach by boat, sailing(航行) through the NahuelHuapi Lake. This is a very calm place and worth visiting. We went as well to the Cerro Viejo which has a beautiful restaurant on the top from where you can admire the whole city. We went skiing to Cerro Catedral four days out of ten and it was a great experience. We visited the LlaoLlao hotel that is pretty different from other hotels. It is in the middle of a group of mountains and it seems as if we were watching a postcard. From there, we went to a farm where we did some horse riding, and we played some games which made us wet and dirty. Finally, some of us went fishing and the rest walked through the forest. We spent that night there camping and the next morning we went on a bus to Cerro Tronador which is the highest mountain in the whole area. It is 3 478 meters tall and there we visited forests and lakes. During our last day in Bariloche, we went shopping and they offered us all kinds of things. You can buy things such as handmade clothes and shoes. We also visited a chocolate factory and watched the whole process of producing chocolate and selling it. Clothing stores for teenagers play popular music. It is exciting and makes the customers feel happy. But music does more than that. It can change the way a person shops. According to studies, the volume( 音 量 ) of music changes how people shop. Customers shop quickly when store music is very loud. They hurry through the store, but they buy just as much. When music is quiet, customers shop slowly. Customers take time to look at the products and talk with the salespeople. Quiet music is good for products that take time and information to buy. Slow music makes people slow down. In restaurants with slow music, customers spend more time eating. Slow music also slows down customers in supermarkets. Customers notice more products as they walk through the store. With slow music in supermarkets, sales go up by 38 percent. Familiar(熟悉的) music gives shoppers a good idea of time. People know the beginning, middle, and end of a familiar song. When customers hear music that is not familiar, they don’t notice the time. When they don’t notice the rime, they spend more time shopping and buy more. People remember past experiences and feelings when they hear familiar music. Many stores play old, happy music so customers feel good. When customers hear new music, they forget about the world outside of the store. Some stores use new music so their customers relax while they shop. Stores choose music that fits their products. A bookstore plays quiet classical music and jazz(爵士乐) . It gives the store a serious and intelligent feeling. 58. What’s the best title for the text? A. Customers’ Music B. Store Music C. Customers and Music Owners D. Music and Shopping 59. What does Paragraph 2 mainly talk about? A. Quiet music is good for products. B. People shop slowly when they hear quiet music. C. People shop quickly when they hear loud music. D. The degrees of loudness of music influence the way of shopping. 60. Which of the following does the text NOT mention about store music? A. It changes the way people shop. B. It changes the way people feel. C. It changes the way people use the products. D. It changes the way people think about the products. 61. What kind of music should a popular sports store play according to the text? A. Classical music. B. Rock music. C. Country music. D. Jazz music. E When someone says that he has a good memory, he really means that he keeps his memory in practice by using it. When someone else says that his memory is poor, he really means that he does not give it enough chance to become strong. More clearly, our poor memory is our own fault, but not our parents’. The following is what I will discuss about it. Give yourself time to form(形成) a memory. Memories are very fragile in a short time, and you may quickly forget something as simple as a phone number. The key to avoiding losingmemories before you can even form them is to be able to pay much attention to the thing to be remembered for a while without thinking about other things. Move your eyes from side to side. Studies show that moving your eyes from side to side for just 30 seconds once a day will exercise your brain and make your memory work more smoothly. Try this when you wake up in the morning. Say thing you want to remember aloud. If you ’ re meeting a person and don’t want to forget his or her name, just repeat the name naturally after you learn it. “Hi, Sarah, it’s nice to meet you. ” This also works to remember an address or a meeting time. Just repeat it aloud to the person who invited you, “ The Grand Tavern at 7? That sounds perfect.” Use chunking. Chunking is a way of grouping things together to help you memorize them. Let’s take a shopping list for example. You can chunk your list by the starting letter of each item(物品) ; you need to pick up eggs, bread, butter, coffee and cheese from the store, remember one E, two Bs and two Cs. As long as you remember the correct numbers, you should be able to recall the items in each letter group. Chunking is what we do when we list a phone number with dashes. Which looks easier to memorize, 8564359820 or 856-435-9820? You probably won ’ t remember 17761812184818651898, but try putting a space after every fourth number. Now you can see that those numbers are years, and you can pick key events from each year to help you remember the number. 62. What’s the main idea of the text? A. Good or bad memories depend on one’s parents. B. How and when to learn from others to exercise our memories. C. The ways that may make memories become better and better. D. Our memories will become better if we keep repeating something. 63. The underlined word “ fragile ” in Paragraph 2 means ________. A. weak B. colorful C. clear D. boring 64. According to the writer, we can infer(推断) that Sarah is most probably “your” ________. A. sister B. cousin C. primary school teacher D. new friend 65. Which of the following is doing chunking? A. Trying memorizing a lot of numbers by saying them aloud at a time. B. Listing all of the fruits together and the bread products together. C. Putting many important events into a telephone number. D. Moving our eyes from side to side in the morning. 第四部分 句子成分(共 5 小题; 每小题 1 分, 满分 5 分) 指出下列句子的画线部分是什么句子成分, 从 A、 B、 C、 D 中选出正确答案。 66. He was taking photos in the park at this time yesterday. Maggie lived on Brian McLaren ’ s dairy farm( 奶 牛 场 ) in Woolsthorpe, in southern Victoria, Australia. “We got her when she was only a little pup, just 8 weeks old. We believe she was 29 years old, ” Mr. McLaren said. The McLaren family brought Maggie home before their son started attending school. He is now 34. “When the kids were growing up, they’d get off the school bus at 4:10 pm and if they were late, she’d be there barking(叫) at 4:15,” Mr. McLaren said. Maggie worked on the farm bringing cows together until about 12 years ago. “She wasn’t pampered(娇惯) but she was well looked after. She always had milk—but not too much of it. She loved her milk,” Mr. McLaren said. “ She loved running after the farm motorbike. When she was younger she would want to run along beside it, so the faster you went, the more quickly she would run. She had the greatest life.” Mr. McLaren said Maggie passed away peacefully. She died in her sleep on Sunday night. “The last couple of weeks I was sad. I was going to have to put her down, and that was going to break my heart,” he said. “I’m so pleased she went the way she did.”According to the Guinness World Records, the oldest age recorded for a dog is 29 years and five months—for another Australian working dog named Bluey. 71.
