Focus of the lesson and predicted area of difficulty Learn the names of the subjects.‎ Use the right words to talk about the subjects they like.‎ Use the right words to talk about the school life.‎ IV. Teaching procedures Comic strip Step 1 Lead-in Free talk ‎ What’s your favourite sport? ‎ Do you do the sport in your PE lessons?‎ Which is your favourite subject?‎ ‎【设计意图】通过复习上一单元运动的话题,引入“体育课”科目的话题,能让学生迅速进入本课内容。‎ Step 2 Presentation ‎1. Listen and answer T: Eddie and Hobo are also talking about their favourite subjects. Listen to the tape and find out what subjects they like.‎ ‎2. Read aloud and answer T: Read after the tape this time. And then answer another question. Why can Eddie learn Maths ‎ well?‎ ‎3. Act out T: Read in roles and try to act out the dialogue.‎ ‎【设计意图】通过提问,掌握学生对该对话的掌握情况,也能激发学生对该话题的兴趣。‎ Welcome to the unit Step 1 Presentation 3‎ ‎1. What’s the date today? / What’s the time now? / What day is it today?‎ T: On October 18th, we will have a parents’ meeting. That is our School Open Day. What do parents do on School Open Day? ‎ ‎2. Listen and find out T: Listen to the tape. Find out what parents do on School Open Day.‎ ‎3. Read and answer T: Read after the tape. Answer more questions.‎ ‎ What else do parents do on School Open Day?‎ What’s the date of the Open Day in Millie’s school?‎ Can Millie’s mother go to her school?‎ What time does the parents’ meeting begin?‎ ‎ Where does Millie meet her mother?‎ ‎4.
