We climbed Mount Tai next morning after our arrival in Taian. It was a little cool at first and as time goes by, the high temperature made me uncomfortable and thirsty. As a result, I really wanted to give up. Just then, I saw a disabled man climbing hardly though his face was covered with sweats. Seeing his eyes fill with faith, I felt moved because the man with disability still kept fighting. Finally, he succeeded in getting to the top. My mother smiled on me proudly. Every time we face with difficulty, don't give up easily. 第二节:(满分 25 分) One Possible Version Dear Peter, Glad to hear from you and thank you for your concern about my study. Because of the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic, the College Entrance Examination in our country has been put off by one month. Therefore, I have made the following adjustments. Firstly, I have relieved some anxiety and worry psychologically compared with before. Secondly, having relatively enough time, I can prepare myself more scientifically and effectively for the CEE according to the new plan. Besides, I have arranged a little more time to build up my body and I should adapt myself to the hot and humid climate in July. As long as I adapt myself better physically and psychologically in preparation, I’m sure I will be more confident about the coming examination. How about the epidemic situation in your country? Best wishes! Yours sincerely, Li Hua (113 words) ∧ hard the sweat when 2 听力原文 Text 1 M: I’m leaving now. What would you like me to bring you? W: Please get me some apples. Oh, I almost forgot! Buy me a notebook. Text 2 W: Dad, I want to learn how to drive this summer vacation. M: That’s a good idea! You’d better hurry up before they’ve filled all classes. Many people are learning how to drive now. W: OK, I will. Text 3 W: Here’s a 15-dollar bill. Give me three tickets for tonight’s film, please. M: Sure. Three tickets and here’s $3 change. Text 4 M: Sally, how are you getting along with the translation work? W: I have written and rewritten so much that I don’t know if I’ll ever get it finished. Text 5 W: I'm really tired from packing all these boxes for three hours. It's about time to call it a day. M: I know. Maybe we could do it first thing tomorrow morning. W: Why not? These orders are not urgent. 听第 6 段材料,回答第 6、7 题. W: Look, Harry, what a beautiful day! Let's go to the park and play volleyball today. M: I'd love to, but I'm not feeling good after falling off my bike on the way back home yesterday, and remember, the doctor suggested that I not do any sports until I feel better. W: Well, how about flying a kite? That would be fun. M: I'd like to, but my knee hurts, too. I really don't think I can run with a kite. W: Why does your knee hurt? M: I guess it's because ... Ah ... W: Harry, stop making excuses! You just don't want to go outdoors. You've been sitting here for two hours in front of the TV. You really must stop being such a couch potato. M: All right. Let's go out and fly a kite ... But I really must be home by 5 p.m. to watch the basketball game. 听第 7 段材料,回答第 8、9 题。 W: What a fantastic play! Thank you for inviting me to the musical. M: You are welcome. I’m happy you enjoyed the show. W: The performance of the dancers was incredible. It reminds me of when I used to dance. M: I know! You were such a talented ballet dancer. Do you miss dancing? W: Oh, that’s very kind of you, Mark. I do miss it sometimes. But I will always be a fan of the arts. That’s why I love going to musicals because it’s the perfect combination of song, dance and theatre. M: Absolutely! I’m glad you are still an art fan too. W: Thank you for the invitation. It’s always a pleasure to attend an art event with you and learn something new. As a reward, I’ll treat you to a coffee. 听第 8 段材料,回答第 10 至 12 题。 M: What do you think of the food there? W: Well, it is really great. But there is something that I’m not used to. People there are always expecting me to eat 3 and I am much fatter now compared to before. M: They are being polite. W: I see. I also learned that it's not polite for the guest to accept the offer of food at first. M: Yeah, that’s right. If you are the guest, you have to refuse the food offered at the first or second time. If you don’t turn it down and just eat all the food, the host will keep on offering a lot of food until you leave some on your plate. You know, the host knows you are full in that way. W: Well, in America, we usually eat all the food on the plate because we don’t want the host to think that we don’t like the food. M: That’s the difference. 听第 9 段材料,回答第 13 至第 16 题。 W: Hey, Jack. You look tired. What’s going on? M: It’s finals week and I have been staying up all night studying. W: How many exams do you have left? M: Three more to go. If I was keeping up, I wouldn’t need to stay up all night. W: Ha! Ha! It seems to be a tough week for you. M: Tell me about it. How about you? What have you been up to? W: I finished my last final this morning. M: So you’re completely done? W: No. I have one more report that is due this Friday. I haven’t started it yet, but it shouldn’t be too tough. M: How many pages do you have to write? W: It’s a 10-page paper. M: You want to take one of my exams for me? W: I would if I could, but you know that’s not possible, M: Yeah, I know. W: If you need help with your math class, I can help you over the weekend. M: That would be great! W: Let’s get together on Saturday around lunch time. M: You don’t know how much this means to me. Thanks. W: Don’t mention it. I’ll see you on Saturday. 听第 10 段材料,回答第 17 至第 20 题。 China’s students will now study online because the virus has shut down schools. The government has launched a national cloud learning platform and started broadcasting primary school classes to ensure the country’s 180 million students can still keep learning even though schools are closed. A new school term, scheduled to start earlier, has been put off uncertainly as part of measures to fight against the virus. China authorities have encouraged people to stay at home to help reduce its spread. The approaches differ by age. Primary school classes are being broadcast on one of China’s state TV channels. Junior and senior high school students in China can use an online learning platform which has 169 lessons covering 12 subjects for the first week, based on the national curriculum. Teachers will keep updating the platform with new materials as needed. The government has asked the China's three biggest telecommunications network operators — China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom — plus tech companies like Huawei, Baidu and Alibaba to back up the platform, ensuring up to 50 million students can use it at the same time. About 600,000 teachers have become live anchors by using a live streaming service called Dingtalk, built by Alibaba, to conduct online classes.
