D .Answer the question (根据短文内容回答下列问题)
Every girl dreams and Lisa is no exception. She has read dozens of books on how to be a
ballerina(芭蕾舞女演员). “Swan Lake” is her favorite. She hopes one day her dream will
come true. She has taken ballet lessons and all her teachers confirm she is a good student.
One day she saw a poster that a famous ballerina group will be performing in her
hometown. Her thoughts ran wild. "I must meet up with the leader of the group and show him
my skills," she whispered to herself. When the troupe arrived, Lisa put on her ballet outfit(芭
蕾舞装) and hid in the dressing room. To her luck, the leader entered and she timidly (胆怯
地) knocked at the door. She bravely approached him and handed him a bunch of red roses.
The thorns (刺) hurt her hand but she did not care about the pain. The leader observed her
action as she told him her dream. "Alright, you dance and I will give you my conclusion." But
half way through the dance he stopped her and said, "I'm sorry you're not good enough!" On
hearing this Lisa ran as fast as her legs could carry her and was ashamed. She gave up her
dream.
Many years later, she heard that the same ballet troupe was performing in her town again.
Bitter memories of the leader's crude words came flooding back to her. This time she was
determined to find out why the leader had told her she was not good enough. This was his
reply, "I tell this to every student." She angrily shot back, "You've ruined my life! Then she got
a further shock, "I remember your gift of roses and how the thorns(刺)had hurt your fingers
but you carried on bravery. If you only had treated ballet like that and did not give up so easily;
therefore, you still deserve my conclusion! "
88. What is Lisa’s dream?
89. How did Lisa feel after seeing the ballet troupe’s poster?

93. How do you understand the last sentence of the story?
88. What is Lisa’s dream?
【参考答案】 Her dream is to be a ballerina(芭蕾舞女演员).

ballerina(芭蕾舞女演员)”.可知。
89. How did Lisa feel after seeing the ballet troupe’s poster?

【思路解析】根据后一句”我一定要见到组长并向她展示我的技能”可知 Lisa 感到很激动并
且很有自信,希望得到团长的赏识。
90. Why did Lisa hid in the dressing room?
【参考答案】 Because she wanted to meet up with the leader and show him her skills.
【思路解析】由”When the troupe arrived, Lisa put on her ballet outfit(芭蕾舞装) and hid in the
dressing room”.她穿上芭蕾舞装”以及上一句”I must meet up with the leader of the group and
show him my skills," she whispered to herself”. “我一定要向他展示我的技能”可得出答案。

薄弱。
93 .How do you understand the last sentence of the story?
【参考答案】 If you are brave and persistent in performing her ballet and didn’t give up easily,
she will be good enough to be a ballerina.

D. Answer the questions(根据短文内容回答下列问题) (12 分)
Two young Chinese men recently took a seven-day challenge to survive(生存)in the wild
without any food or water. Both of the men are fans of Edward Michael, widely known for his
survival television show “Man vs. Wild”. Inspired(赋予灵感)by the show, the two young men,
Huang Zuhong and Fu hailong, started their seven-day challenge on Feb 16, 2016 on Huanggua
Mountain with only a knife and a lighter .
They had not imagined their first day was so difficult. It took them about five hours to build
their camp, which was made out of hay. To keep up their energy, they had to eat everything they
found as long as it was not poisonous(有毒的).
At night, they had to take turns to watch the fire, which they used for both light and boiling
water. According to Huang, they could only sleep about three hours per day at most.
The fourth and fifth days were the hardest, because they didn’t have enough food and their
shelter leaked(漏)when it rained. Luckily, they found some small fish in the rice field on the sixth
day, which helped them to get through the hardest period.
The last day of the challenge is the traditional Chinese Lantern Festival. It was also an
unforgettable day for Huang and Fu, as they caught a rabbit. Both agreed that it was the most
delicious thing they ever ate.
“We are fine but a little tired,” Fu said after the challenge was done. When asked about what
they learned from the challenge, both men said that this experience would encourage them to get
through any difficulty they would meet in the future. “Even though some say it is too dangerous, I
know what I am doing and what I want.” Fu said.

A. Answer the questions.(根据短文内容回答问题)12%
These two letters appeared in a newspaper. Both writers have their own ideas on zoos.
Zoos Do a Good Job
It is good to keep animals in zoos. I know a lot of people think it is wrong to keep animals in
zoos. However, I believe that zoos have many good points.
Firstly, zoos are good for people to see many different kinds of animals from all over the
world. Without zoos, most people would never see a real bear or tiger.
Secondly, zoos look after the animals very well. The animals are always given food and
cleaned regularly. In the wild, it is not always possible for an animal to find food,so sometimes it
goes hungry. But animals kept in zoos never go hungry.
Thirdly, zoos protect the animals they look after. They offer them safe places to live in.In the
wild, some kinds of animals are in danger of becoming extinct. But zoos give these animals a
chance to live.Without zoos, there would be fewer kinds of animals in the world.

Zoos Are Unnatural
In Maria's letter, she says that zoos are good for animals.I am afraid that zoos are not good for
animals, they are only good for people.
It is unnatural and unfair to keep wild animals in cages. Most animals are kept in cages that
are too small for them.In the wild, these animals would travel freely. In zoos, they can't do this. This
is why the bears and tigers always look so sad.
Most cages are not very clean either. It is true that zoos give the animals food regularly, but
this is not natural. Wild animals are used to looking for their own food. We should treat animals in
the same way that we treat other people--with respect.
Would anyone be happy if you don't let him go outside his home? Would Maria like to have
lots of people standing outside her flat looking at her? No, she wouldn’t. And animals don't like it
either.

C. Answer the question(根据短文内容回答下列问题)
A businessman was once deep in debt and could see no way out. He sat on a park bench, head in
hands, wondering if anything could save his company.
Suddenly an old man appeared in front of him. “I can see that something is troubling you,” he
said.
After listening to the businessman’s woes, the old man said, “I believe I can help you.”
He asked the man his name, wrote out a check and pushed it into his hand, saying, “Take this
money. Meet me here exactly one year from today, and you can pay me back at that time.”
Then he turned and disappeared.
The businessman saw in his hand a check for $500,000, signed by John D. Rockefeller, then one
of the richest men in the world!
“It can solve my problem in an instant!” the businessman realized. But instead, he decided to
put the check in his safe. Just knowing it was there might give him the strength to work out a way
to save his business, he thought.
With renewed optimism, he negotiated better deals and extended terms of payment. He closed
several big sales. Within a few months, he was out of debt and making money once again.
Exactly one year later, he returned to the park with the check. At the agree-upon time, the old
man appeared. But just as the businessman was about to hand back the check and share his success
story, a nurse came running up and grabbed the old man.
“I’m so glad I caught him!” she cried. “I hope he hasn’t been bothering you. He’s always
escaping from the hospital and telling people he’s John D.Rockefeller.”
And then she led the old man away by the arm.
The businessman just stood there, stunned. All year long, he’d been wheeling and dealing,
buying and selling, convinced he had half a million dollars behind him.
Suddenly, he realized that it wasn’t the money, real or imagined, that had turned his life around.

D. Answer the questions(根据短文内容回答下列问题)
Tigers as Pets
Having a pet tiger would be great, wouldn’t it? It seems that many people agree, at least in
the United States. The US Association of Zoos and Aquariums says that there are 12,000 privately
owned pet tigers in the U.S.A.
12,000 is a very large number of tigers. It is much more than the number of tigers living in
the wild. Scientists think that there are only 2,000 or 3,000 wild tigers left. Why are there so many
pet tigers? One reason is that the price of a baby tiger is quite low, sometimes just 500 dollars.
Unfortunately, tigers don’t make very good pets. Caring for a big cat is very expensive,
difficult and dangerous. As baby tigers, they may live inside with their owner, play safely and look
very cute. However, when they grow up they cannot be trusted. They still want to attack and bite
like a wild tiger. According to big cat trainers, only 1 in 8 big cats can be trained sufficiently to
have contact with humans. That’s after training by a professional! For this reason, nearly all pet
tigers live in a cage.
Because they must always live in a cage, the life of a pet tiger is sometimes unhappy. They
must be locked away so their owner can clean the cage and feed them. It is not safe to touch the
tiger. Pet tigers are most often kept for show rather than for companionship(陪伴). Is that the kind
