Teaching procedures:
Step1 Lead-in
1.Show the students a short video and ask them a question.
How many countries are there in the video?
2.Show some pictures to catch their eyes.
Step 2 Presentation
1. Let the Ss master and “pick up” and “around/all over/throughout the
world”
2.Ask students to read paragraph one and paragraph two and then
complete the table.
3.Ask students to read paragraph three and paragraph five and match the
countries with their eating habits.
4.Ask students to read the passage together.
Step 3Consolidation
1.Ask the Ss to watch a funny video and answer some questions.
What happened at table?
Are the two men polite at dinner?
2.Discuss “How to be polite at table ” in groups.
Step 4 Expansion
1.Let the Ss think if the table manners are polite or impolite in different
countries.
2.Students are able to stick the smiling faces and crying faces to show
their ideas.
5.Give Ss an example to help them to write a passage about table
