Teaching design of Unit 5 My father is great. 【Teaching content】 Unit 5,Book 8,Grade 4(Start from Grade3, published by Liaoning Normal University.) 【Students Analysis】 The students in Grade 4 have learned English for 1year. They are lovely and active.They like new things. They are full of curiosity and good at showing themselves. They like playing, drawing, and singing. They want to learn more and more knowledge. So it is very important to arouse the students’ interests and enthusiasm in English. 【Textbook Analysis】 The topic and content of this textbook is close to Ss’ daily life. There is one topic in three or four units. The topic of Unit 5 is how to ask others’ jobs and try to answer. The students will learn “What’s his job? He’s a/an ...and What’s her job? She’s a/an...” to others. To master the knowledge in this lesson is very important for the goal of the whole topic.
