Van Gogh and Depression 教学设计 教材分析 本课教材内容选自有关忧郁症的课外读物以及音像演讲资料，是课文之 外的拓展课，从各个角度反应了过去、现代现实中的社会人对于生命的一种态度。 学生从刚学的课文中知道了梵高的生平故事，但课文并未提及梵高短短的一生遭 受了忧郁症的侵袭，可惜在那个年代，这个疾病没有被认知到。如今，社会对于 忧郁症已经有了很大的改变。本课时将在“depression”这一主题的统领下，引 导学生在掌握文本信息、培养英语阅读、听说能力的基础上，逐步从学习中认识 到何为忧郁症，忧郁症的症状, 如何诊断,以及如何去治疗帮助身边的忧郁症患 者, 体会珍惜生命，并能过一个精彩而又充满意义的人生。 学情分析 一、在学习了 Unit4 课文之后，学生已能初步掌握梵高的短短的人生故事，领 略到了其才华以及艺术造诣。但是大家非常痛惜这么有才华的大师生命却如 此短暂! 本课文是对课文内容之外的拓展，丰富学生的心理知识，并运用这 些知识与生活中，帮助排解学生在生活中遇到的难题,从而更积极愉快地学 习好、生活好。 二、现阶段高中学生普遍存在学习紧张，压力较大，9 月 1 日开学第一周，上海 就发生多起学生自杀的事件，部分学生对于生命的价值认识不足，更有许多 学生身患忧郁症而自己并不知情，教师有责任不失时机地将课堂教学与学生 的人文素养提高有机结合，以读文而养性，倡导学生真爱生命，活出每日的 精彩！ 教学目标 一、 知识目标 了解关于忧郁症的真实信息；掌握一些与忧郁症相关的重点词汇；了解一部 分现代人当前的一种生活状态。 二、过程目标 1.通过循序渐进，并通过一些阅读，听说技巧学会把握关键词；通过鉴赏梵 高的画，励志大师的演讲，帮助学生深入了解忧郁症的定义，症状，原因，以及 诊断和如何治疗。 三、情感目标 同情社会上的忧郁患者，关注自身的精神健康，并且帮助身边的忧郁症患者， 鼓励学生在人生挫折来临时采纳应该采取的措施，培养学生对生命应有的态度， 对生命的珍爱、对生活充满热情。 General Teaching Procedure Step Teaching Aim Teacher’s Activity Students’Activity Interacti on 1 Get the topic of this period Play an MP3 Warm-up Listen and enjoy the paintings of Van-Gogh T—Ss 2 Come to a natural transition to topic Present people comments about Van-Gogh Get to know that Van-Gogh was a depression sufferer T—Ss 3 Check students’ background knowledge about depression Present a quiz Guess the answers to the quiz T—Ss 4 Get the definition about depression Present a passage Read the article and find out the missing sentences.
