I. Paraphrase the following sentences by using the given techniques.
Technique 1: Change clauses into participles (-ed, -ing) (把从句改成分词)

1 Do you start / end your summary with a sentence stating the thesis or the moral of the article?

3 Do you use the third person?
4 Do you use several transitional words?
5 Do you use your own words (paraphrase the original)
Some useful narrative transitional words:
1. When a narrative article is organized in the order of time:
at first, then, next, at last, finally, eventually…
2. When a narrative article is organized in the order of cause and effect:
The reason why…is that…, because, therefore, hence, because of, due to, thanks to, owing to,
consequently, however, fortunately, unfortunately, however, but
