A Let’s learn
一、教材分析:
本节学习的是形容词比较级,让学生学会并能运用含有比较
级的简单句子。在此之前,学生已经学过本节所有形容词的原形,
这些形容词是对人体外貌的描写,与学生密切相关,学生学起来
会感觉容易且兴趣浓。
二、教学目标与要求:
1.能够听、说、读、写形容词的比较形式:taller, stronger, older,
younger 和 shorter.
2.能够用句型:I’m……cm tall. He/ She’s ……cm tall. 描述自己
和他人的身高。
3.能够用句型 You’re taller than your brother. I’m older than you. 进
行年龄和身高的比较。
4.能够听懂教师的指令,按不同年龄、身高排队,并用所学语言
进行表述。
三、教学重、难点:
1.重点是能够听、说、读、写 A Let’s learn 部分五个形容词的比
较级形式;并能用含有比较级的句型替换关键词进行问答。
2.难点是能够听、说、读、写四会单词;并能根据某一情境使用
含有形容词比较级的句型替换关键词进行问答;长度单位 cm
的完整形式 centimeter 的发音也是本课的教学难点。
四、教学过程:
Step 1 Warm up.
1. Let’s chant.
(活跃课堂气氛,让学生尽快地进入课堂。)
2. Free talk.
T: Who’s your favourite teacher? What’s he / she like?
S1: My favourite teacher is … He / She is …
S2: …
3. Guessing game.
S1: Who’s my favourite teacher? She’s young and tall. She’s
strict but kind.
S2: She’s our English teacher.
4. Read the words: tall, strong, old, young, short
意图:Free tall 的过程中复习了学过的句型和形容词,有助于
下一环节的开展。
Step 2 Presentation.
1. Show two pictures: Yao Ming and Liu Xiang. Ask and answer:

意图:给出熟悉的体育明星 Yao Ming 和 Liu Xiang 的相片和信息,
一下子吸引了学生的眼球,学生会迫不及待的去了解和比较他们。
(1) older & younger
. T: How old is Yao Ming?
S1: He’s 32 years old.
T: How is Liu Xiang?
S2: He’s 29.
T: Who’s older, Yao Ming or Liu Xiang?
Ss: Yao Ming is older.
Teach to read “older” —“er” /ə/
T: Who’s younger? Yao Ming or Liu Xiang?
Ss: Liu Xiang is younger.
Teach to read “younger”
T:I’m 27 years old. How old are you?
S1: I’m 13.
T: I’m older than you. You are younger than me.
意图:学生们都掌握了如何询问对方年龄的句型,所以学生很
快能说出两位体育运动员的年龄,此时,教师再引导学生们对他
们的年龄进行比较,这样学生能容易地理解比较级的意义。同时,
把 older 和 younger 这对相反的形容词比较级放在一起教,能让
学生对它们的意思理解得更深刻,更有话说,运用得更到位。
(2)taller & shorter
T: Yao Ming is 229 cm tall. How tall is Liu Xiang?
Ss: He is 189 cm tall.
Teach to read “cm ---Centimeter. cen-ti-me-ter”.
Let Ss guess my height. Then let Ss introduce their height.
T: Who is taller, Yao Ming or Liu Xiang?
Ss: Yao Ming is taller.
Teach to read “taller”. Then let Ss compare their height.
e.g.: S1: I’m 155 cm tall. How tall are you?
S2: I’m 155 cm tall.
S1: I’m taller than you.
T: Who’s shorter? Yao Ming or Liu Xiang?
Ss: Liu Xiang is shorter.
T: Yes. Liu Xiang is shorter than Yao Ming.
Teach to read “shorter”. 根据前面几个形容词来引导学生初步
认识比较级后缀“er” 发音规律。
T: I have a brother. He is taller than me. What about you?
S1: I have an uncle. He is taller than me.
S2: I have a sister. She is shorter than me.
…
意图:在用了 How old are you?句型来询问年龄之后,学生再
学习句型 How tall are you?来询问身高就容易多了。在此环
节,初步地让学生认识了一下后缀“er”的发音规律,有助于
扫除学生学习其它更多形容词比较级时出现的读音障碍。
2. stronger
Compare our P.E. teacher and English teacher. Who is stronger?
Teach to read “stronger”, then let Ss talk about “Who is stronger than
you in your family/ class?”
意图:先从学生熟悉的体育老师和英语老师的外形相比,让学
生认识 stronger 的意思和用法,再让学生自由说出自己的家人或班
上比自己强壮的人来进行操练和巩固。
3. A game(开火车)
S1: I am 152 cm tall. How tall are you?
S2: I’m 155 cm tall. I’m taller than you(S1). How tall are you(S3)?
S3: I’m 151 cm tall. I’m shorter than you(S2). …
S4: …
意图:用游戏来训练句型和新单词,学生兴趣高。
4. Let’s sing a song.
I’m taller than you.
He’s shorter than me.
I’m younger than him.
She’s older than me./ I’m stronger than her.
意图:用歌曲帮助学生记忆。
5. Let’s play. Let three Ss come to the platform. Let other Ss
compare them.
意图:此环节给学生展示的机会,检查学生在实际情况下的运
用能力。
6. Let’s try.
Step 3 Practice.
1. Let Ss show the photos of their family and introduce the
members to others.
e.g. : I am 152 cm tall. My sister is 148 cm tall. I am taller than my
sister. My mother is 39 years old. My father is 40. My mother is
younger than my father. Look at my parents. My father is stronger
than my mother.
2. Do exercise. 给出表格,让学生写出三句含比较级的句子,可
小组讨论。
